We’ve been exploring Alaska for over two years now, and nothing compares to a sunset in Southeast. (Especially after a few weeks of rain 😅). It’s truly such a magical setting — golden hues among the Sitka spruce and the mountain tops in alpenglow. Looking out at the inside passage and its narrow waterways is endless. Bald eagles flying around you. And to top it off, you’re usually alone and it’s so very quiet. If you’ve never experienced Southeast Alaska, we definitely recommend a visit. 🌲🏔️

Southeast Alaska will be dealing with a tale of 2 seasons, as an atmospheric river takes aim on the panhandle. Areas of the central and northern panhandle will see snow/freezing rain, while areas to the south remain all rain (with the exception of Hyder). Expect some flooding concerns for Southeast Alaska where temperatures will warm into the 40s and 50s, while areas to the north remain near to below freezing.
